Weather

I just checked the weather and I saw this picture. The red box means there are weather statements issued in the area. The weather statements sounded pretty comforting. The abbreviated version goes something like this

TORNADO WATCH ...
FLOOD WATCH ...
WINDS...
INLAND FLOODING...
TORNADOES...
RAIN... 3 TO 6 INCHES...

Wow!

Where I am

Some have asked for pictures about daily life in order to get a feel for what things are like for a down south Georgia boy, so I thought I would share some photos of campus. VSU's campus is split up into two sections. The first two photos above show Main Campus. Every building on main campus has been done in "Spanish Mission" architecture. The School of Business in one mile north of Main Campus on what is creatively called North Campus. As you can see from the photo, North campus is more southern than Spanish. My office is on the left end of the building shown in the last picture and all of my classes are held in the same building.

The REAL Winners

With all of the talk of how well the Dark Knight is doing in the theater, I thought it would be good to remember who the REAL winners are at the box office. Below is the ranking of inflation-adjusted, domestic box office earnings in 2006 dollars. The Dark Knight has a ways to go to overcome Titanic and both films have an incredible distance to close on the number one box office winner of all time, Gone with the Wind.

Good Morning Croak

At times we have all been waked by the sounds of birds singing outside our window. In Georgia, the experience is somewhat different. Instead of the song of a Cardinal or the whistle of the Robin, we have the croak of the green tree frog. Don't be misled by his small size. Dispite being only 2.5 inches, his croak is loud enough to fill your whole house. If you too are interested in knowing what is is like to wake to the sound of the hyla cinera frog, simply wait until you are asleep and have someone click HERE.
